Privacy Policy

The Mennonite Benevolent Society (“MBS”, “we”) respects your privacy. This page explains what information this website collects, why, and what we do with it. We collect only what we need to answer you and to send the newsletter you ask for, and we never sell or share your information with anyone for their own use.

Messages you send us

When you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, the subject you choose and your message. These are emailed to the Society's office so a person can read and answer them. We keep them only as long as needed to respond and for our ordinary records. To stop automated spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being filled in by a person.

The Beacon of Hope newsletter

If you subscribe, we keep your email address to send you each new issue of the Beacon of Hope, twice a year. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the link in any newsletter email or by writing to us, and we will remove your address.

Donations

Online donations are processed by CanadaHelps on its own secure website, not on this one. CanadaHelps shares with us the information needed to record your gift and issue your tax receipt. Its handling of your information is described in the CanadaHelps privacy policy. If you give by cheque, we use your name and address to record the gift and issue a receipt.

Cookies and visitor statistics

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The map on the Contact page is provided by Google Maps and loads only on that page; Google may set its own cookies when it does. The PDF newsletters can be read on the site or downloaded without giving any information.

Links to other websites

This site links to related organizations such as Concordia Hospital, the Concordia Foundation and Bethania. Their websites have their own privacy practices.
